Course Organization

This is an independent study course. We have a textbook, assorted web pages, meetings once a week and some homework.

Grading

A common recommended standard for grading is the following:

         90.0%--100% A 70.0%--79.9% C
         80.0%--89.9% B 60.0%--69.9% D

The scale used at the end of the semester will be similar.

The grade will be computed on basis of assignments (50%) and exams (50%).

We will have a midterm exam and a final exam.

Assignments

There will be approximately 6 or maybe 8 programming assignments. Assignments are turned in by e-mail. With so few people in the course, we can be fairly relaxed about due dates.

You should keep backup copies of your work on the assignments.

Be sure to include your name and the assignment number in the documentation for each assignment.

Assignment Grading

Grading is based on the output from the program, on the program documentation, and on whether the work meets the specific requirements involved.
