Michael E. Papka


I am a computer scientist with expertise and interests in high performance computing, visualization, large scale data analysis, and the development and deployment of research infrastructure in support of science.

At Northern Illinois University, I am a professor of computer science in the Department of Computer Science, where I teach courses in visualization and co-lead the Data, Devices and Interaction Laboratory (ddiLab).

At Argonne National Laboratory, I am the deputy associate laboratory director for Computing, Environment and Life Sciences, the director of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility, and a senior research scientist.
